Sogea AMCOS (Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society) is a farmer-led cooperative based in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania, specifically in Sogea village, Mbeya Rural District. Established in 2020, the cooperative operates a centrally located Coffee Processing Unit (CPU) where member and non-member farmers deliver ripe cherries for processing. Over the past five years, Sogea AMCOS has grown steadily in both membership and production. It currently has over 266 active members and works with an additional 30 non-member farmers. Together, they produce between 60 to 100 tons of parchment coffee per season. Farms under the cooperative are located at elevations above 2,000 meters above sea level, and grow Bourbon, Kent, and Compact (TACRI-developed hybrid coffee varieties).
