At Kahira-ini Coffee Factory we are a dedicated collective of 600 farmers passionate about creating the finest coffee in the country. Our story begins with the fertile slopes of Mount Kenya, where the unique combination of altitude, rich volcanic soil, and perfect climate conditions provides the ideal environment for coffee cultivation. Each day, our farmers tend to their coffee plants with meticulous care, ensuring that only the highest quality cherries are harvested. The journey of Kahira-ini Coffee Factory started in the early 90s. This cooperative was once a significant part of the Giant Mathira Farmers Cooperative Society. Mathira FCS was, in the 90s, one of the largest cooperatives in Kenya. There were several challenges that caused the cooperative to collapse, but we are now working to rebuild it to keep producing great coffee
